Attic Abasement - Half of Once lyrics

[Attic Abasement - Half of Once lyrics]

I've been trying to sleep forever
Slipping in and out of the daylight
Coming in to my own and falling apart

Laying on a hardwood floor
Watching a whistling maid
She was dusting the ceiling fan
That spun with a breeze
The windows bent inwards our house caved in
Put me right out story

Tiny men in the jukebox were playing a song
I knew all the notes so i would sing along

There was a yellow dog he would
Sit in the sand and smile
The tip of his tail was white
And he had six toes
And he wouldn’t shake hands

Little kids swimming in the beach
Making up songs about drowning
My hands were cold so i put them in a fire
But i fell in and went right thru

The drop didn't take long
Before i landed in the air above a sailboat
The men looked at me
With a simulated surprise
Somehow they knew i've been there right then
I tried to say a few words
But nothing came to mind
Their blank stares returned to bored looks

I could see a cars headlights
Coming up thru the water
I got into the chase was on
But the drivers seat was empty
I took the wheel it turn to dusk
Lock the doors just close my eyes
