🇬🇧 Barnaby George "Barns" Courtney, born November 17, 1990, is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. He was born in England but moved to Seattle, Washington, with his family at the age of four, returning to the UK at fifteen.
Courtney started his career by forming his first band, SleeperCell, at fifteen, winning various competitions and appearing on Channel 4's Orange Unsigned. At nineteen, he signed a contract with Island Records as the frontman of Dive Bella Dive, but their debut album was never released due to contractual issues.
In 2015, Courtney launched his solo career with the release of the track "Glitter & Gold," which quickly gained attention, followed by his breakout single "Fire." Both tracks received significant radio play and millions of streams. His debut album, The Attractions of Youth, was released in 2017, and his second album, 404, came out in 2019.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Barns recorded the entire album at home with his friend Agam Timor. In July 2024, his new album Supernatural was released.
Courtney has also opened for major artists such as The Who, The Libertines, and Ed Sheeran, and has performed at renowned festivals around the world.
