🇺🇸 Tyree Simmons, known as DJ Drama, was born on April 22, 1978, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has become one of the most influential DJs, music producers, and promoters in America. His career began as a DJ for Atlanta rapper T.I., and he later gained further recognition by creating mixtapes for other well-known hip-hop artists. His Gangsta Grillz series became iconic, popularizing albums by artists such as Lil Wayne, Tyler the Creator, Snoop Dogg, Yo Gotti, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Fabolous, Jeezy, Meek Mill, and Gucci Mane.

In 2015, DJ Drama, along with producer Don Cannon, who is also from Philadelphia, founded the Generation Now label, a division of Atlantic Records. This label signed major stars such as Lil Uzi Vert and Jack Harlow.

Although DJ Drama is not a rap performer himself, his extensive network in the music industry allows him to bring together both lesser-known and established artists to work on his albums. His discography includes six studio albums, including "Gangsta Grillz: The Album" (2007), Vol. 2 (2009), "Third Power" (2011), "Quality Street Music" (2012), "Quality Street Music 2" (2016), and "I'm Really Like That" (2023). These works received positive critical reviews and achieved commercial success. DJ Drama was named "DJ of the Year" at the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards and won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album in 2021 for his work on Tyler, the Creator's album "Call Me If You Get Lost."
