Fimiguerrero, whose real name is Fimihan Usman Akinola, was born in Nigeria but moved to London with his mother and brother as a child. He grew up in various areas of the city, including Greenwich, Thamesmead, and Newham. Later, the family temporarily lived in Kent.

Fimiguerrero’s music career began with freestyling in local London parks and recording his first songs at home using school headphones. His early influences included Nigerian fuji music, as well as Western and British genres like trap and freestyles from SB.TV. In 2019, he released his debut track “RUBBERBANDS,” marking his entry into the British underground scene.

After dropping out of university, Fimi fully committed to music, literally living in studios and recording tracks across cities from Manchester to Copenhagen. A pivotal moment for him was meeting Lancey Foux, one of the pioneers of UK rage rap. They quickly bonded over their shared Nigerian heritage and love for fashion, and went on to record several tracks together, including “Dark Knight,” where Fimiguerrero confidently carries the energy and symbolically receives the “baton” from Lancey.

In 2023, he released two significant projects — BLACK and IMMIGRANT, which showcased his ability to blend various genres, from trap to Afro-bashment and club rap. Tracks like the provocative “School Dinner” and “rain” highlighted his unique approach to music.
