GASHI (rapper) — Lyrics, Songs
(🇦🇱) 🇱🇾 🇺🇸 GASHI, whose real name is Labinot Gashi, was born on October 4, 1989, in Tripoli, Libya. An ethnic Albanian from Kosovo, he spent his childhood in various African and European countries before moving to Brooklyn, New York, at the age of 10. Struggling with learning English, he turned to music, especially rap, as a means to integrate into his new environment.
GASHI began his music career under the name The Kid Gashi, which he later changed to GASHI, and then to G4SHI, before returning to the original spelling. His debut project, the mixtape "Last of a Rare Breed" (2011), featured tracks with Nipsey Hussle and French Montana. In 2012, he released the hit "Rocket" and founded the group Moxy, also becoming the face of the "Problem Child NYC" clothing brand. Over the following years, GASHI released several successful tracks and mixtapes, including "Switch Up" (2015) and "Disrespectful" (2017), which was also featured in Showtime’s "The Chi."
In 2019, GASHI released his first studio album, "GASHI," under RCA Records. The album features 16 tracks with contributions from G-Eazy, French Montana, DJ Snake, and Maxx Owa, and was led by singles such as "Creep on Me," "Safety," and "My Year."
