Jenn Em 🇺🇸 — Lyrics, Songs
Jenn Em (born Jennifer Michelle Malsch) was raised in the small town of Chevy Chase, Maryland, just outside the U.S. capital. In a family focused on academics, Jenn was the only creative soul. She began playing the piano at four and wrote her first song at six. While still very young, she picked up the violin and performed at venues like the Kennedy Center, the White House, and Baltimore Orioles baseball games, all while dressed in frilly dresses that highlighted her childhood charm.
Jenn Em was always singing. As a rebellious teenager, she shed the cute persona and delved into the worlds of hip-hop and R&B as a songwriter and hook vocalist. In 2008, she released a remix of “Nike Boots” by fellow Washington, D.C. native Wale (featuring Lil Wayne). The track became a local hit and gave the then-seventeen-year-old Jenn the push she needed to pack her bags and head to Los Angeles to further her career.
