The Hellacopters is a Swedish garage rock band formed in 1994 by Nicke Andersson, Andreas "Dregen" Svensson, Kenny Håkansson, and Robert Eriksson. Andersson, who had previously been the drummer for Entombed, and Dregen, taking a break from his full-time band Backyard Babies, decided to start this project as something temporary. But, as often happens, things went much further. Along with Dregen and Eriksson, who had worked as roadies for Entombed, and Kenny, a childhood friend of Nicke, they created not just a side project, but a full-fledged band that eventually became Andersson's main musical outlet.

The Hellacopters, alongside The Hives, became one of the key bands in the garage rock revival in Sweden. At some point, their music was no longer just part of the local scene, but a true symbol of Swedish rock, and the band itself became one of the most significant and influential forces in the country.
