I think it's clear that she doesn't want to hit her as being physically violent but wants to hit on her or hit her up. Especially as the next line is that she's hot. It wouldn't make sense and Fletcher doesn't write stupid lyrics. Maybe she needed to get something out of her system. Hence this song. Breakups are not easy, especially when people have a long and amazing history. I just hope that Fletcher understands that there isn't just Shannon or nothing.
