🇺🇸 Lawrence Allen Swoope II, better known by his stage name Swoope, was born on April 2, 1986, in Akron, Ohio. He is an American Christian hip-hop artist, songwriter, and producer. Several key milestones and achievements define Swoope's musical career.
He began his music career in 2010 with the release of the EP Applause Vol. 1 and the single "Actions Speak Louder." On April 24, 2011, he released the EP Spring Fling, followed by the instrumental version, Spring Fling Instrumentals, on June 15 of the same year. On February 8, 2012, Swoope released the EP Boys R Us, which served as a precursor to his debut studio album. This debut album, titled Wake Up, was released on March 20, 2012, and marked a significant step in his career. His next album, Sinema, was released on August 5, 2014, also under Collision Records.
In addition to studio albums, Swoope released two independent mixtapes, The Zoo and A.I.R.: The Abstract Intellect Revolution. Following the release of Sinema, he put out a free EP titled Because You Asked on October 10, 2014. On February 5, 2016, it was announced that Swoope had left Collision Records, and he independently released the album Sonshine on February 2, 2018. This album was a result of his struggle with depression and his search for new meaning and hope through his faith.
One of Swoope's notable achievements is that his song "Beauty and the Beast" was named iTunes Single of the Week for the week of August 5, 2014.
